Get started in minutes

Pick a device, install one small app, and follow the setup wizard. If you can use a phone, you can run your till — no technical setup, no contracts.

1 · Choose a device

Universal Till is one small app that runs on hardware you already own — or a ready-made kit from our store.

Raspberry Pi

A Pi 4 or 5 with a touch screen makes a tidy, low-cost till.

An old PC or laptop

Any 64-bit Windows or Linux machine works — give it a second life.

A Mac

Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and newer) run it natively.

A touch terminal

Proper POS terminals work too. Or buy an assembled kit from our store.

2 · Install the app

Download the version for your device from the download page, then follow the steps for your system. Every install opens the setup screen in your browser automatically.

🪟 Windows

  1. Download the Windows installer (.exe).
  2. Double-click it and follow the wizard — it adds Start-menu and desktop shortcuts.
  3. Open Universal Till from the shortcut. Your browser shows the setup screen.

🍎 macOS

  1. Download the macOS file and unzip it.
  2. Double-click “run-unitill.command”. The first time, right-click it and choose Open, then Open again (a one-time macOS step).
  3. Your browser opens the setup screen.

🥧 Raspberry Pi / Debian

  1. Download the .deb package for your board.
  2. Install it: sudo apt install ./unitill-pos_*.deb
  3. Open http://localhost:8080 to reach the setup screen.

🐧 Other Linux

  1. Download the .tar.gz for your CPU and extract it.
  2. Run ./run-unitill.sh from the extracted folder.
  3. Your browser opens the setup screen.

3 · Follow the setup wizard

The first time it opens, a short wizard gets your shop ready.

1

Pick the language for the whole till — including right-to-left for Persian and Arabic.

2

Your country

Sets your currency and tax. You can change everything later in Settings.

3

Shop name & PIN

Name your shop and choose an admin PIN. That's it — you're ready.

Add a few products, then ring up your first sale.

Add products

Add items by hand, or import your catalogue from a CSV (Loyverse and Square exports work automatically).

Ring up a sale

Scan a barcode or tap a product tile, then take cash or card. Print or skip the receipt — done.

Need a hand?

The till has a built-in “How to use the till” guide in your language. And you can always reach the download page for a fresh copy.
